Gaëtan Le-Bel has a master’s degree in biomaterials and medical devices from Université de Bordeaux and a Ph. D. in cell and molecular biology from Université Laval. His work focused on using stem cells to reconstruct human cornea in the lab. During his Ph. D., he also operated the molecular genetics platform at CUO-Recherche. Following his graduate studies, he held a position as a researcher at LOEX. Notably, this enabled him to continue working on developing a reconstructed human cornea model using tissue engineering, all while strengthening his lab management skills. Gaëtan joined the Biopterre team in October 2022, bringing with him the scientific rigour and knowledge acquired through his years of experience in the field of academic research.
