Ce mode de culture innovant permet une production stable et de haute qualit\u00e9 tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e. Il permet \u00e9galement de produire des v\u00e9g\u00e9taux en milieux non conventionnels (milieux urbains, arides, nordiques, etc.), puisque tous les param\u00e8tres sont contr\u00f4l\u00e9s ind\u00e9pendamment des conditions ext\u00e9rieures.<\/p><p><strong>Pr\u00e9sentation du projet\u00a0:<\/strong><\/p><p>STEELfab790 a con\u00e7u et mis au point un syst\u00e8me adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la culture en milieu ferm\u00e9. L&#8217;appareil GiGrow est un syst\u00e8me de culture rotatif d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour la culture int\u00e9rieure, sans apport de rayons solaires. Les plantes sont dispos\u00e9es \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur d&#8217;une structure cylindrique, effectuant une rotation autour d&#8217;un axe lumineux. La fertigation est effectu\u00e9e \u00e0 la base des plants, directement dans le substrat de culture, par un syst\u00e8me \u00e0 injection par gravit\u00e9, situ\u00e9 sur le dessus de l&#8217;appareil.\u00a0<\/p><p>Le projet consistait \u00e0 fournir un support technologique \u00e0 la R&amp;D pour la commercialisation et l\u2019optimisation du syst\u00e8me de culture rotatif GiGrow. Plusieurs facteurs de la r\u00e9gie des cultures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9s\u00a0: la fertilisation, l\u2019irrigation, l\u2019\u00e9clairage, les substrats de diff\u00e9rents formats et \u00e0 base de diff\u00e9rentes mati\u00e8res, les densit\u00e9s de culture, les dates de semis, etc.<\/p><p><strong>R\u00e9sultats obtenus\u00a0:<\/strong><\/p><p>Les essais exp\u00e9rimentaux ont permis la d\u00e9termination de rendements envisag\u00e9s, menant \u00e0 la comparaison avec diff\u00e9rents modes de culture (champ, serre, culture \u00e9tag\u00e9e) et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9valuation de la faisabilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique de divers projets. Le projet a \u00e9galement rendu possible la mise au point de plusieurs cultures\u00a0: basilic, ciboulette, persil, coriandre, st\u00e9via, camomille, menthe, tomate, laitue Boston, laitue fris\u00e9e, roquette et mesclun.<\/p><p>Les r\u00e9sultats d\u00e9montrent que\u00a0:<\/p><ul><li>Les v\u00e9g\u00e9taux produits dans le syst\u00e8me GiGrow sont de bonne qualit\u00e9 en ce qui a trait \u00e0 leur couleur, leur go\u00fbt, leur turgescence, etc. Cette production de qualit\u00e9 est reproductible tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e.<\/li><li>La quantit\u00e9 de biomasse annuelle produite par unit\u00e9 de surface dans le syst\u00e8me GiGrow est d\u00e9cupl\u00e9e par rapport \u00e0 la production en serre et m\u00eame en comparaison avec d\u2019autres syst\u00e8mes en milieu ferm\u00e9. La configuration circulaire du syst\u00e8me optimise au maximum l\u2019espace de production. L\u2019occupation d\u2019une superficie de plancher de 3,3\u00a0m<sup>2<\/sup> permet l\u2019\u00e9quivalent d\u2019une production de 6,6\u00a0m<sup>2<\/sup> \u00e0 plat. En superposant 2, 3 ou m\u00eame 4 syst\u00e8mes, l\u2019optimisation de l\u2019espace est augment\u00e9e.<\/li><li>La configuration circulaire du syst\u00e8me permet \u00e9galement de maximiser l\u2019utilisation de la lumi\u00e8re, ce qui n\u00e9cessite moins de source lumineuse par unit\u00e9 de surface qu\u2019un syst\u00e8me de culture en milieu ferm\u00e9 en \u00e9tage par exemple (\u00e9conomie de mat\u00e9riel et d\u2019\u00e9nergie).<\/li><li>Le syst\u00e8me de distribution de la solution fertilisante par injection \u00e0 la base des racines n&#8217;engendre aucun contact de la partie a\u00e9rienne des cultures avec de l&#8217;eau, ce qui r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les risques de d\u00e9veloppement de maladies et champignons caus\u00e9s par l&#8217;humidit\u00e9.<\/li><li>Le concept d&#8217;agriculture en milieu ferm\u00e9 r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les risques d&#8217;invasion des cultures par des insectes ravageurs.
