Professor emeritus at the Saint-Hyacinthe campus of the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire (ITA), he is behind the eco-friendly horticulture pavilion. Mr. Vall\u00e9e has expertise in communication, training and technological innovation in the fields of horticultural production and plant technology. He has over 25 years of experience in the private and public sectors. He is the author of over 100 technical extension articles in professional magazines and co-author of three scientific publications. In 2015, Mr. Vall\u00e9e received the prestigious Henry-Teuscher Award, a distinction offered by the Montreal Botanical Garden, recognizing the outstanding contribution of the recipient to the advancement of Quebec horticulture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Key Achievements<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Founder and manager of the eco-friendly horticulture pavilion at ITA&#8217;s Saint-Hyacinthe campus, which involved the implementation of a $6.3\u00a0million educational laboratory dedicated to the benefits of horticulture on health, well-being and the environment<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Creation and management of the selection program of horticultural novelties \u201cLes Exceptionnelles<span class=\"s3\"><sup>TM<\/sup><\/span>\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Instigator and manager of ITA&#8217;s TechnoLab for urban agriculture<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Coordinator and project manager for the establishment of two research greenhouses (CFI greenhouses) at ITA<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Coordinator and co-author of the book \u201c<i>Les techniques de culture en multicellules<\/i>\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Responsible for organizing the international symposium \u201cEau, air, sol\u00a0: l\u2019\u00e9puration par les plantes\u201d of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise de phytotechnologie, held at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium in 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Claude Vall\u00e9e is an agronomist and holds a master&#8217;s degree in plant biology from Universit\u00e9 Laval on fertilization and substrates.
