T. A., holds a college diploma in horticultural production and environmental technology from the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire, La Pocati\u00e8re campus. Mr. Tardif has worked as a Co-Director &#8211; Innovation and Technology Transfer at Biopterre since 2007. Since his arrival, Mr. Tardif has carried out some 50 applied research and technical support projects related to the theme, \u201c<i>Mycotechnology, NTFP and innovative cultures.\u201d<\/i> More specifically he has focused on the development of bioproducts and bioprocesses to enhance non-timber forest products (NTFP) through agroforestry systems and innovative crops. Over the years, Mr. Tardif has worked on the socio-economic development of rural and northern communities in Quebec through the enhancement of NTFP.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Key Achievements<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Development of cultivation processes specific to the production of non-timber forest products associated with hybrid poplar<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Development of a culture substrate and technical strategies for the cultivation of the wine cap Stropharia (<i>Stropharia rugosoannulata<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Development of an autonomous system based on LED lighting for the production of leafy vegetables in northern environments<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Participation in the development of a bioclimatic tool to forecast the emergence of fungi with commercial potential<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Improvement of packaging protocols for forest mushrooms with high commercial value<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Potential economic spinoffs from the non-timber forest products sector in the territories Timiskaming, Pikogan and Lac-Simon First Nations<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Development of a growing method for Labrador tea, a boreal plant with high commercial potential<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Development of a remote sensing method for milkweed<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Experimentation on vegetation techniques for an erosion zone along the St. Lawrence River in Montmagny<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Investigation on regional product processing methods for local consumption in Nunavik<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Tel.: 418 856-5917 ext.\u00a0203<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Cell.: 418 866-8785<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maxim Tardif, D.
