Julie Charbonneau holds a diploma in horticultural production and environmental technology, with a specialization in greenhouse and field cultivation of fruits and vegetables, from the La Pocatière campus of the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire du Québec. She worked for a number of years on farms that operated based on a family farm production model, including one that was a social integration enterprise. At this farm, she gained experience in production management and in providing horticultural training to numerous 16- to 35-year-old youths. Her love of plants inspired her to also explore the field of ornamental horticulture by working in landscaping and as an advisor at a garden centre. She has an immense passion for education, agroforestry, plants and soil life.
