Raphaëlle Patoine-Rivest holds a diploma of college studies in agroenvironmental horticultural production technology [French only link] from the La Pocatière campus of the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire du Québec. Her creative side led her to study photography, design and textile printing. Her desire to pursue new challenges and her environmental awareness inspired her to work in reforestation and fight forest fires in British Columbia. Her interest in agroforestry and non-timber forest products (NTFP) led her to participate in development projects focused on increasing food autonomy and strengthening climate resilience in Bas-Saint-Laurent communities, with a particular emphasis on crop diversification and local systems.
