Vincent Lamarre, engineer and agronomist, holds a bachelor’s degree in rural engineering and a certificate in business administration from Université Laval. From 1993 to 1997, he worked as a research professional at Université Laval. After, he joined the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire, La Pocatière campus as a researcher in the sectors of rural engineering and agri-environment. He participated in the establishment of Biopterre and has since then worked in support of research teams in the field of good agricultural practices, harvesting and biomass conditioning. He is also a candidate representative of the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire for the Council of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Canada (NSERC). In 2011, he was awarded the Agronomic Honour by the Ordre des agronomes du Québec, which is awarded to an agronomist in recognition of their outstanding professional achievements and their influence within the profession and the community.

- Evaluation of different harvesting techniques aimed at adapting machinery for the willow industry, energy biomass
- Parameterization of a mobile granulator and development of wood pellets derived from local biomass recovery
- Evaluation of various transformation techniques for different types of biomass for energy purposes or bioproduct development
- Development, adjustment and adaptation of agricultural equipment
